OUR DEPARTMENTS

 The Centre shall have 3 departments – health, medico-legal, and demography. The departments shall mount courses in health and their allied, legal and demography.

 

1. HEALTH DEPARTMENT 

The Centre’s health department shall focus on key health concerns that impact on human development. Amongst these include: public health in its broad and specific terms – reproductive health, maternal and child health, health education, environmental health, nutrition e.t.c; dental health; mental health; and forensic medicine, in areas specific to clinical practice and pathology.

 

2. MEDICO-LEGAL DEPARTMENT 

This department shall mount courses and programmes on health related legal issues including forensic medicine in relation to medical jurisprudence and legal toxicology; health laws – national and regional; gender justice; bioethics together with human right and human right treaties.

 

3. DEMOGRAPHY DEPARTMENT

This Centre shall also mount courses and programmes on demography – encompassing various aspect of the subject. This will be expected to build capacity of the student towards an effective and more accurate national planning, population census and activities.
